Extentia Celebrates International Design Day! 

Extentia, a Merkle company and a distinguished global technology consulting and software development firm, proudly celebrated International Design Day on April 29th and April 30th, 2024. The event, organized by Extentia’s Experience Studio (ES), served as a dynamic platform for fostering creativity, innovation, and excellence. 
 
Held at Extentia’s state-of-the-art XEN LAB facility in Pune, the event brought together a vibrant community of design enthusiasts from across Extentia. Themed around this year’s International Design Day focus, "Is It Kind?" the event inspired designers to infuse acts of kindness into their creative projects, emphasizing the transformative power of empathy in design. 
Recognizing the importance of adding a human touch to design in our digital world, all activities were hands-on. This approach encouraged great creativity and highlighted that while AI is important, its true power comes when combined with human touch and empathy. 
 
Day 1 of the event witnessed a lineup of engaging activities, including an interactive session on making Sketchnotes and the delightful art of Soap Carving, weaving an atmosphere of collaborative learning and exploration. Furthermore, discussions emphasized the intersection of artificial intelligence and design, offering participants invaluable insights into the evolving landscape of design technology. 
 
On Day 2, Extentia’s leaders took center stage to chart a course for the future of design. Their compelling talks emphasized the importance of global collaboration, urging Extentia’s designers to synergize with Merkle studios worldwide. From mastering the art of storytelling in UX to translating narratives into tangible experiences through paper prototyping, participants were equipped with practical tools and methodologies to elevate their craft. 
 
Prior to the celebrations, Extentians displayed their creativity in a doodle competition by ES. The doodles, following the theme "Celebrate Extentia’s Vibrant Spirit," decorated XEN LAB walls, showcasing the organization's creative spirit. Shantuli won, with Snehal and Melinda as runners-up, impressing everyone with their imaginative designs. 
 
Extentia’s International Design Day celebrations offered an excellent platform for design enthusiasts to learn, grow, and appreciate the value of empathetic design. The key takeaway was that creating bespoke experiences for clients begins with empathy and self-awareness. By understanding and listening to clients' needs, designers can deliver truly exceptional designs.
