The much-awaited SAP TechEd took place in Las Vegas, Nevada on Nov 15-16, 2022.What was special this year was that SAP celebrated its 50th anniversary.
Day 1: Opening Keynote Highlights
SAP’s CTO and Executive Board Member, Juergen Mueller’s Keynote speech kept global audiences, both in-house and online, enthralled. To mark the 50th anniversary, Mueller took to walking down memory lane to highlight how SAP’s founders focused on the processes and the people that run the organisation. The human element still runs in the SAP DNA, while continuously improving areas of SAP BTP.
An NFT drop was also offered for 15 pieces of digital art designed specifically for the event, made available via digital codes during the sessions.
SAP Build
SAP TechEd revealed the launch of its low-code experience, SAP Build, which brings together previously disconnected products into a unified development environment. SAP Build includes 3 solutions: SAP Build Process Automation, SAP Build Apps (the next version of SAP AppGyver) and SAP Work Zone - all offering a suite of easy-to-use tools to solve problems.
Apart from SAP Build, Mueller announced ABAP Cloud, new features in CAP, the value of the SAP Integration Suite, thousands of integration flows, unified story in SAP Analytics Cloud, and a new class of enterprise intelligent data apps with HANA Cloud.

Day 2: Business Applications Keynote Highlights
Thomas Saueressig, stressed upon the need to be agile in the face of the pressing global challenges by adopting new business models and increasing automation through intelligent technologies. SAP helps organisations to become resilient, sustainable, and intelligent by connecting fragmented processes and data.
Philipp Herzig reiterated that integration is the foundation for insightful end-to-end businesses processes. Other highlights include: All major applications have adopted the industry standard SCIM.
The integration of Google workspace together with SAP S/4HANA.
All SAP's mobile applications will come with an all-new product experience including product icons, all based on the new design language called Fiori Horizon.
SAP has updated all SDKs for Android, iOS, low code no code web development and SAPUI5, UI5 web components, style sheet library Fiori fundamentals, and a complete remake of Fiori Mentor app to make it even for developers.
SAP S/4HANA Cloud is available on-premise, Private and Public clouds.
Meg Bear displayed how customers leveraged SAP Start, a central entry point for all SAP solutions and Build Work Zone for low code/no code extensions. Muhammad Alam featured SAP Buying 360 and its features that is trusted by companies across 190 countries, intelligently supporting spend processes from direct to indirect procurement, from services to contingent labour, and travel and expense.
Jan Gilg highlighted SaaS ERP solutions which is the center of SAP’s modular Cloud ERP strategy leveraging ABAP and BTP.
Ritu Bhargava shared insights of SAP’s unparalleled One Office experience, built on BTP, that connects the back office to the front office that is the fuel that powers customer experience.
The event had hands-on workshops, breakout sessions, and lectures for exploring SAP Build and several virtual workshops to display visual cloud functions with S/4HANA, extensions for SAP SuccessFactors and SAP Service Cloud. To bridge the skills gap in the IT industry, SAP is also attempting to upskill two million developers worldwide by 2025, especially for those interested to be part of the SAP ecosystem. The keynote highlighted SAP initiatives for improving learning methods and resources for SAP students and professionals including a new partnership with Coursera.
